I have some good excuses, I swear. First problem, and this is a BIG problem, our fridge broke! I had to throw away a roast, chicken breast, you name it. If it was stored in the fridge, I had to throw it out. It took us a few days to get a new fridge and in those days I was eating random stuff from the pantry like Elisabethhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06502694039755344890noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9114141127698648399.post-56011522570557538132012-01-26T12:01:00.002-05:002012-01-26T12:10:58.021-05:00Progress...Ok so it's almost been a week since I started losing weight. First, I just want to say that dieting is so NOT fun!!! However, I know it's the key to loosing weight, so it'll have to go on and on for a while. I was totally off carbs for the first few days and just eating protein and a lot (seriously A LOT) of veggies. I was doing great until church on Sunday. I was sitting there feeling hungry andElisabethhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06502694039755344890noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9114141127698648399.post-17752749707370109892012-01-20T14:39:00.002-05:002012-01-20T14:49:40.203-05:00Feeling So.....FAT! I know I've had 3 kids, I know. Doesn't change the fact that I feel like a cow right now. My husband says I'm beautiful (of course he does) but I need to change things ASAP. Especially since I'm going to be a brides maid in May.Starting today, like RIGHT NOW, I'm making some drastic changes. To quote Jafar from Aladdin "desperate times call for desperate measures!"I'm going to start with a 3Elisabethhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06502694039755344890noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9114141127698648399.post-9281567999263706902011-10-31T08:47:00.002-04:002011-11-02T10:02:08.911-04:00Healthy HalloweenHere's a quick idea to keep the candy away this Halloween. I call it the candy buy back. Basically, you give you kids a dollar (or $2 if you're in a generous kind of mood) for every pound of candy they give you. This works really well for older kids who, unlike preschoolers, would totally notice if you threw away their candy. You then let them buy a toy or book or new outfit with their money. It's true that I hate the ridiculous amounts of candy and kids running around on a sugar high, but I don't hate Halloween. I love the costumes, the decorating, and parties. Oh and I also love visiting the pumpkin patch! Speaking of pumpkins.... watch this adorable video!Haa haa, Elisabethhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06502694039755344890noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9114141127698648399.post-61440117552893520692011-10-20T09:27:00.003-04:002011-10-20T09:46:52.089-04:00Yoga for Kids!My daughter brought home an order form from school, from Scholastics book club. As a kid, I never got to order anything from Scholastics because we were on a budget, and let's face it, ordering books for 5 kids would get expensive! I wasn't going to order anything for Rosie until I saw the cutest book ever and it was only $5. It's called the ABCs of Yoga for Kids. I ordered it and we read it Elisabethhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06502694039755344890noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9114141127698648399.post-47964520099933028972011-10-03T20:42:00.003-04:002011-10-03T20:48:07.156-04:00MotivationIf you see me eating junk food, or an obnoxious portion, PUNCH ME!!Elisabethhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06502694039755344890noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9114141127698648399.post-79313057638593846232011-09-22T15:13:00.002-04:002011-09-22T15:18:11.643-04:00Results - 1 MonthHi y'all!Just a quick note about my weight loss. I've lost 15 pounds and feeling pretty great!! I've been eating A LOT of salad with home made dressing and cutting back on junk food. I've also been running and on Tuesday night, I finally ran my entire 5.4 Km route without stopping. I have a race in one month so as long as I keep it up, I'll be good and ready!I'm hoping to continue loosing weight,Elisabethhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06502694039755344890noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9114141127698648399.post-81335640336155626252011-08-13T09:51:00.003-04:002011-08-13T10:13:12.143-04:00The PlanHey everyone! Ok so I said in an earlier post that I'm going to loose the baby weight by December 1st. I figure that's a reasonable amount of time to loose 40 pounds.
So what's my weight loss plan? Well.... I don't really have a set out plan. Normally I would never recommend NOT having a plan but let me explain.
I'm a mother of 3 children ages 3 and under. My youngest is 2 months and always Elisabethhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06502694039755344890noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9114141127698648399.post-14805847638079490092011-08-11T11:21:00.002-04:002011-08-11T11:31:32.773-04:00Time to Lose the Baby WeightOn June 3rd the cutest baby boy was welcomed into the world. We love him so much and we are so happy to watch him learn and grow. My only complaint with all of this is the extra (and I really mean EXTRA) weight I've gained. I've had record breaking weight gain with this last pregnancy by a staggering 20 pounds. So that means my usual 55-60 pound weight gain was 75-80 pounds this time!! It's been months since my last recipe Friday post. I get really sick when I'm pregnant and I knew I wouldn't be able to keep it up during those 9 months. To be honest, I still don't know if I'll be able to post a recipe EVERY Friday because life with a newborn, AND a 2 year old AND a 3 1/2 year old is CRAZY!!! Any way, here's a recipe for this week.I saw this on the Ellen Show. I often feel like they only pick up the not-so-nice habits from my husband and I. Like when Rosie (3 and a half years old) screamed "listen to me right now" at her brother the other day.Well the other day Rosie proved that she is learning something great. I filled a couple bowls with Goldfish crackers and gave one to Elisabethhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06502694039755344890noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9114141127698648399.post-36398036600684977662011-07-02T13:27:00.000-04:002011-07-02T13:28:05.852-04:00New Baby!I know it's a month late (4 weeks to be exact) but I'd like to finally announce the arrival of baby #3! We welcomed baby Michael on June 3rd at 7:50 am. He weighed 8 pounds 1 ounce, a lot less than Joseph did, and I could totally feel the difference in labor. He has blond hair and blue eyes (so far, things might change)and he's as cute as ever. Planning on a Natural Birth.Hi Everyone!I just wanted to pop back on here (I miss blogging) and let you all know that the pregnancy is going really well! Ok.... I'm nauseous, have swollen feet, gained over 60 pounds, have to pee ALL THE TIME, exhausted, and have a hard time sleeping... BUT the baby is healthy and will be here in about 2 months :)I'm so excited to meet the little peanut and see how cute he/she is. I said it was because my life was getting really busy and that my kiddies needed my attention. While this is all true, the real reason for going on break is because....I'm pregnant again! Baby is due in June :) I get really sick when I'm pregnant and I have to take medication to keep me from throwing up every 10 minutes. I think the only time they've ever had it was at other people's homes. I almost always cook with whole wheat pasta so getting my kids to eat whole grains hasn't been an issue at all. However, I learned recently that getting some kids to eat whole grains is mission impossible. She looks way younger and has often been mistaken for my sister. My mother has also been very aware of what foods she eats and works out regularly.
